A friend is flying from Santiago to San Juan and then Orlando. *He has a Dominican PREPAID Claro chip phone . *Is there anyway that he can get this to work in San Juan or Orlando (Internationally)? *I know that ours do, but we have regular Claro billed accounts.

Thanks:

Let the friend talk to Claro and activate international roaming (can be also done online via their website). You get phone calls but no Internet afaik - yes, that's with prepaid Claro phone - my GF has the same setup and she can use her phone in the US.

If he has prepaid service he needs to call claro and activate the roaming service and make sure add lot of money before leave the country. *Prepaid service pay for incoming calls and outgoing calls, SMS received and send, and Data.

Pospaid service now with the new update of claro services can use the minutes of your plan, sms, and Data as if you are in Dominican Rep, also incoming calls are for free and calls to the Dominican Republic are included in the minutes for your plan.
