I seriously doubt it. At my condo in Cabarete we average 23 hours/day. Some days it's on for the full 24 hours. Other days it might be off for 2-3 hours. We have a planta - so no problem.

Punta Cana, Bavaro have 24/7 electric. CEPM is a private company. You pay more, but it works.

And if you are in Cabarete center, you are on an A circuit, but backup is still needed almost every day.

I live in Uvero Alto and we have 24/7 power. As Sky mentioned above we are on CEPM. I think we pay just over 12 pesos per kwh.

I live about a mile east of the center of Cabarete. Our planta has a digital display, so it is very easy to determine an average for what percentage of time the 24/7 line is actually working. We track it closely.

Power interruptions are a lot more frequent than what I would call a power outage. Yesterday it cycled on and off numerous times, but was only "off" for maybe 5 minutes at a time. Really annoying.

Edenorte also has regular planned outages. Still, there are many days where the power actually does stay on all 24 hours here, but the average is "off" one hour/day.

In my area of Santiago we have 24/7 power. I don't even have an inversol let alone planta. My son however lives in the capitol (in a nicer area) and his power goes on and off all day. The building has a planta but it is one of those that do not switch over automatically so it takes a few seconds to switch over.

I have 24/7 power in a campo not far from Moncion (Santiago Rodriguez province) which also has 24/7. The electricity goes off usually one Friday in 4 for 3-5 hours but not always, which is for maintenance, otherwise only if there is a problem. Sometimes no outtages for months at a time. No idea why we are lucky to have it here.

Bayahibe, Punta Cana, Bavaro and Juan Dolio have permanent electricity as they are only subjected to power outages when something goes wrong with the lines or the circuit compare to other parts of the country where they have power cut off everyday for some time.

I'd figure out what you need first. If you have modest needs for 24x7 power, so you can just use a 400 watt inverter, 12 VDC battery, and a trickle charger. inverter and trickle charger comes off of amazon. Battery from La Sirena, and you're golden for for $100.

I lived in a Class A area, but the power was very expensive and it still went out, just not as much.

You guys don't get it. 24/7 is the a joke.

Have 7 hours every 24.
Out 24 hours every 7 days.
Have 24 hours once in 7 days.
7 days out for 24 hours.
Crew and office OUT for 24 hour for 7 days.
Charge 7 days worth in 24 hours.
When paying bill ripped off 7 times for 24.
Your bill is 24 times the 7 day rate.

And those with 24/7 promised actually believe it. ROFL.

Go ahead. Add to the list. lol

Cabarete
The only thing I can figure is that you are on the same circuit as some big politico or head honcho at Edenorte. I'm on 24/7 up here in Cabarete and the power is off every couple months for 5-6 hours at a time for planned maintenance. Then there's always a tree branch somewhere that short-circuits the grid, a truck running into a power pole, lightning strikes, and transformers blowing up because the circuit is overloaded. On average I'd say I get about 23 hours a day.
