Call Loida Martinez in Puerto Plata 809 261 1245. Tell her Ricardo sent you. I am no youngster either, and am covered by her. ARS Monumental company.

Should be 1800 rd per month.-

If she is coming from Canada try Intact Insurance. They have a really good product that they sell under the name Tugo.

It is true that you can get insurance after 65 here in the DR. I have Humano and got it after 65. I have wonderful agent in Puerto Plata who comes to Sosua whenever required. I had to take a physical one time and it automatically renews year after year. PM me if you want her name and email.

Oh and if she is here only 3 months at a time, there is now insurance for that also.

What do you pay for that and have you used it. What is the copay deductible, etc

I pay about 18000 RD per 6 months;have Humano Royal without maternity. There are 4 plans I have the 2nd up. I have had it for about 3 years and have only used it for dental, which covers 50% of the services. Can't find the policy to tell you what the copay is. Sorry.

If Mom is coming from another country wouldn't her current health insurance cover her in another country?

If she's on Medicare, no. Some supplements will cover patients with emergencies for first 90 days out of country*

When my husband got dengue this past February, I looked into filing a claim, but after the $250 deductible there wasn't that much left, so I didn't bother. The two hospitals he was treated in were free (we live in campo) and it was only the blood tests in SD that were hundreds of dollars **
