I vaguely recall this question being asked years ago and the response was METALDOM in Santo Domingo being the only place anyone could come up with in the DR.
Yesterday we saw a small van with electro plating on the side near Cabarete so was hoping there was a place nearby. Gone by the time I tried to get the phone number. Don't know if they still do that for car parts.
