    Default Habichuelas Con Dulce

Love it or hate it, it's Habichuelas Con Dulce time. We've enjoyed it a few times already.

Here's a new article about its origins

I knew you'd add your two cents, lol.

Had some from a lady selling near beach, was really good, but the first time we had it with some whole beans in it.

Our colleague Sagrario Matos has an interesting variation with non-traditional spices like cardamom: http://sagrariomatos.com/2013/03/hab...re-y-especias/

I like habichuelas con dulce but can only stomach a skimmed milk, reduced sugar version. In small doses.

I made it last year for the first time but with coconut milk. It was good but a little too rich for me. No one else liked it so I guess I won't be making it again.

The first time I tasted it was in either San Cristóbal or Baní, and it was the fava bean version.

Never liked habichuelas con dulce. My favorite thing about cuaresma time is guandules and bacalao,YUM!

I once wrote a song about habichuelas con dulce; it was set to the music of Los Toros Band's "Llegó tu marido."
