Has anyone tried using a small portable generator to power bedroom 220V A/C units?

I would be for a villa that only has an invertor/batteries, but loses power for couple hours or so during the night.

Hi,
because of the high "peak" of consume when the AC starts, you need a pretty big generator (arround 8KW)
with 110/220V outlet even for a small AC Unit. Thanks G-D, i do not live next to you, running a generator every night.

sounds like the better solution for the one bedroom is a portable 110v a/c unit as a backup if/when power goes out at night.

Or just buy an inverter A/Cs that are specifically designed to work with power inverters and batteries (not all A/C inverter types can do that).
