Santo Domingo Or Puerto Plata?

Go to the index page of the travel section. Do this by clicking on the travel button at the top of this page (besides the dr1.com logo). Then, notice on the left sidebar the Destinations section. There, click on Santo Domingo for Santo Domingo. For Puerto Plata, click on Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete and Playa Grande as these are all within an hour and a half of each other on the North Coast.

there is no comparison,SD is a big city,with many,many things to do,PP is a small tourist town.

Santo Domingo BY FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depending on what you like to do, the main places in POP are the Playa Dorada complex, just hanging out on the malecon, and a handful of decent discoteques/car washes...etc. There are some nice swimming pools fairly close to POP...the beach along the malecon is really dirty, and not a place I would recommend.The nicest beaches are not really in POP...you would have to travel a little ways out of POP to get to any nicer beaches.

On the other hand...SD has EVERYTHING that you can expect to get out of the DR for nightlife and cultural activies that are available to the DR. It is alot more modern, and the options to what you can do for entertainment there are almost limitless compared to POP.
