That's exactly what I said...As long as your parents don't have a problem with it, nobody is going to not allow you to drink. The legal age is supossed to be 16, but nobody cares about the law. Come to think of it nobody cares about any laws in the DR. I can send my 4 year old to buy me a case of beer and they would sell it to him. Just don't go crazy and get too drunk!!! Try to enjoy the beach and other things you can't find in the UK. You will have your whole life to get drunk, but probably only a few days to see this beautiful country...

Ok I'm going into my mother act now forgive me for that. Have a great time. Don't forget that if your coming from a cold climate, take it slow on the drinking. You don't want to be barfing on your holidays.Bring lots of condoms if your planning on (you know). But have a great time. Are you going with a group of friends?

Bring a bottle of pepto bismal and take BEFORE going out - and after getting back.
Don't carry too many "pesos" or dollars on you or you'll be mugged for sure once you get drunk!
Please barf where I won't have to clean it!
If you must--- alsways carry your protection with you and USE it! (altho' if you're drinking THAT much you won't be able to use it!)
Call home if you need a ride or just want me to come get you outta a bad situation! I'll "take the heat" so you won't be embarrassed (oops! guess this one doesn't apply! *-} )

The legal drinking age in the Dominican Republic is 18. In some tourist areas, most of the bars require you to be 18 to enter. Same for some of the bars in Santo Domingo. They've been frequently raided and sometimes shut down for allowing minors (under 18).

Hey....ask anyone whose been here what's the best thing about the DR and they'll answer "Presidente".
Since they don't mean "Hippo" you know it's beer......!!!!
