Question What does a US citizen need to legally work in the DR?

I'm hoping to travel to the Dominican Republic from May to August of this year and to work in a hotel. I am a US citizen, fluent in english and spanish and conversational in portuguese and italian. I need to know what permits, if any, I need to obtain to work legally in the DR.

You need to get your residence papers. See the legal section for this information at http://dr1.com/legal/index.shtml

In other threads, most of the advice is to not sweat it. Get the job, do the work and go home.
    Just four months...

At least that is what most people here are doing...

Besides, it takes longer than that to get your Residence papers....

You will have a job before you get here, right??
