Hi,

if a car gets damaged in a situation like we have now with Maria and it is fully insured does the DR insurance covers damages by natural desasters?

Sounds like an "act of God" to me. If the policy excludes those then the answer would be no. I can't imagine a policy that does not make reference to these type of events. Sometimes a special rider is available for an additional cost for some normally excluded risks. Best to ask the policy issuer if you are in this situation or if you are looking to renew or purchase a new policy.

My insurance is the BanReservas one. They still owe the half of the car. I will ask them.

You are covered.

They would not let you have the loan without full coverage.

Full coverage also includes so called Acts of God.

In either place your comprehensive coverage will pay the claim. You shouldn't be dinged with a premium increase for filing a comp claim. Don't know how long you've had the car. The settlement may or may not pay off any balance you might have with the finance company unfortunately.
