need tips to go to work in rd

i`m going to move in rd next year actually i`m working in us (ct)
i `m french and head chef , have basic in spanish

and i m thinking to open a auberge in the future if i liked there and there like me.......
any tips will be welcome style of life, work

French cooking is expensive, as you may know. Not like Italian cooking. And you will find it difficult to charge more than the Italians, so your profit margin will be less. You would have to be able to play with that, but I am sure there are ways to get around that.

There are several French restaurants in Santo Domingo that get by. My recommendation would be whatever you do to start small. Probably you could open the restaurant in your home to save costs. If the patrons really enjoyed your cooking, then you could slowly expand. To check out the market, you would need to come for an extended visit and talk to your future competitors to get a feel of the market.

There is a demand for good chefs. But again you would have to network to find a job.
