It hasn’t been publicized much yet, but USSA baseball (Little League, Cal Ripken League, etc), has changed their bat standards, and almost everyone will need to buy new bats to play organized baseball in the USA after January 1st. No one can use existing bats, and I know the last one my grandson got was $400.

Our daughter and her husband are very involved in local baseball, and with the cooperation of our town, they will be collecting used bats and other baseball equipment (cleats, gloves, catchers equipment, etc) to ship down to DR.  They’re even paying for the first three boxes.  We’ll donate them around San Cristobal Province mostly.

I thought I’d share this because maybe some other DR1ers might be able to do this from their state.  Better than these bats ending up in landfills, and the Dominican kids will be thrilled.
