For keys, I found there is one guy that is recommended. He is on the road down to the docks in Puerto Plata. If cannot recall his name or the name of the business, but anyone in POP that ever needed what you need would have probably found him. We used him to rekey the locks in a 2003 Santa Fe.

There is also a Centro de Fresnos in POP . That is all they do is breaks. The break shop is a street or two east of the KeyMan.

when you deal with these brake guys, you need to know that they reline some of those brakes themselves. i am not too sure about the quality of the product.

the key guy is edgar, he is on calle 30 de marzo. turn from avenida caamano (formerly colon) into a small street in front of vinicola del norte and he's on the first corner there. 829 448 1580. he can program they keys too but that depends on the exact year and make of the car.

Clinica de Fresnos will definitely reline the brakes as an option. Had it done for a Kia Picanto and they worked well.

windeguy, you've been in the DR too long: "Fresnos"..:)

Just a typo on my part.  :rambo:

He's from California.....

I am from NY.  I only got to live in California for 10 years, unfortunately.

You may have to go to a dealer to get this done.

I agree. A trip to Santiago at least might be necessary. Magna Motors. There are some "lots" set up that sell Hyundais and Kias in Puerto Plata. One near the new Jose Luis and another near the entrance to Torre Alta. You could stop at one of those and ask if anyone in town can replace the newer keys, but the latest generation may not be possible in POP.

Here is a link to Huyndai dealers in the DR:
