Taxi POP airport to Riu merengue
The airport taxis are a ripoff, as are the resort taxis.
I spent 300 pesos to go to Puerto Plata, around a 20 minute drive.
In town I would typically pay 100 pesos per hour.
Sometimes I would hire a driver for the whole day and night for 1000 pesos.

I hope that one of the POP regulars like Noelle or Grahame chime in on this, but I think that the rates are posted there at the airport.
If all else fails, there is a Tourist Information booth at the airport..
But I am sure that one of the regulars will tell you...

Thanks for the reply. I hope some of the regulars do respond. Even if the fare is posted at the airport, I am sure it negotiable. Just want to know what the bottom line should be. It's not that I'm stuck, because i do have the tour bus as a back up, I just want to go straight to the resort this time with out stopping at all the resorts in Playa Dorado.
