This hasn't happened in North America for 150 years.

This phenomenom is when a "Super Blue Moon"---i.e., the second full moon in a month when thre moon is closest to the earth and appearing larger by 7-10%---passes through the earth's umbral shadow in roughly an hour and 15 minutes.

Hope for clear skies! We're on the edge, but may see most of it.

Saw the last 2 moon rises coming out of the ocean. Absolutely fantastic.

This year is remarkable.... is this the 2nd big one?

I saw another less major event too... 3 in total with is one

Disappointing news.

I spoke with my best friend Col. Bruce who is an astronomy geek.

Seems he has to travel west of Chicago from his central FL home to film the eclipse. He says it won't be visible from FL, and certainly not from the DR.
