Has anyone done the route with Caribe from las Americas to sanchez then caught a guagua to Cabarete? just wondered if worth the effort.. seems a more direct route and I am so tired of the usual route to Santiago then the drag and delays to Puerto plata then to Sosua and Cabarete. Would the route direct to sanchez then change make any sense - even save time?? Does the Caribe bus from La caleta even stop in Sanchez en route to Samana>?

IT does...
So if you want to travel towards Sosua , take the bus to Rio San Juan from Sto Dom... or to Cabrera.

A more direct route

Cabarete is about an hour from either - not the 2 hours from Sanchez

I think will be easier to get the express to Nagua, will be more direct than heading Sanchez and then go back.  The Expreso Nagua its right bedside Caribe Tours in Las Americas.  The Question now is if he can take a Bus from Nagua to Cabarete

The Nagua/Cabrera/Rio San Juan bus is the same.... just takes you an hour closer to Cabarete.

Guagua from RSJ to Cabarete... easy

The Caribe stop at the new toll road (near the airport ) is where you need to go.... to avoid downtown SD.

The end of the bus route is RSJ - after Nagua & Cabrera
From there - RSJ- you take the guagua for an hour or so to Cabarete.

You could get off in Nagaua and guagua from there to RSJ then switch to the Cabarete one
but I wouldn't unless necessary..... but it's another option

I have just returned from beyond the front line -
going way beyond the call of duty....

The Caribe Tours office in Cabrera.
The official schedule will say the Las Americas to Rio San Juan route doesn't exist --

It does ---

Leaves Las Americas at 7:30 & 9:30 each morning and 2:30 & 4:30 in the afternoon
Might not be on Sundays--

RSJ - Cabarete guaguas are usually 20-30 minutes apart and pass in front of the RSJ terminal

Good work Willy, you earned your pay this week. lol
Amazing that it is not on the Caribe website. I assume this is a Caribe Tours bus and not Nagua Express?

Just not listed on the 'Rutas'....
the service is but they call it Carretera Nueva..... as opposed to the slow multi-stop route

Ok, great, Thanks again Willy.
So they've re-routed the 7,8,2 & 4 buses from SD to the aforementioned via Toll road.
This really is great for SDQ travel so no need to go through the mess called Santo Domingo.
Thanks again Willy
