Can anyone suggest where I can get a small birthday cake for a 3-y-o boy lettered with his name and age?

I have only tried La Sirena. No joy there.

I need it for 11 am this Monday (5 Feb) but could order and pay tomorrow (Sat).

Hi London 777 ,
Super Pola in Sosua does this - you can tell them what you want written on the cake. You prepay at the Service Desk and pick up on the day -they need about two days for it !

Caliche reposteria, that's where we got an amazing custom-made cake for our son when he turned one.

In the lower end of Avenida Isabel Torres, close the corner of the road that passed by La Pulga.

EDIT: Let's be more precise:

I had that done right there about 6 months ago for my step-son. I didn't even have to pre-pay or wait. I picked out one of the cakes they had in the display case and they added his name and "Feliz Cumpleanos" for no charge while I waited(a minute or two).

Of no help to the OP, but for those in Santo Domingo in need of cake, Supermercado Nacional does an extremely good chocolate one, it's not that dry nastiness covered in shaving cream that you usually get but a cake that actually tastes like a cake you could buy in London or New York. I think a big cake is about RD$ 800.

Many thanks for your helpful replies suggesting places in Puerto Plata city. And I hope suggestions of places elsewhere will be useful to others in future. Birthday has been deferred to Wednesday, so I have time to get it sorted.

That is not very nice!
Must be a product of mediocre parents.
LOL! Don't play the compassionate humanitarian, Tambo. It's not your style!

Neither I nor the child have a clue who the father is, but the mother is a love goddess.

JEE JEE, so get a nice chocolate cake!
I got a pint of Häagen-Dazs for 1/2 time consumption.
Have her bring a primo, we can be a happy family and teach the brat about football.

Thanks for the recommendation, dv8. I ordered it late Monday for 10am Wednesday and at 9am Wednesday they telephoned me to say it was ready for collection.

The cake was a good size for the price and a large range of flavors and colors for interior and icing were available. As instructed by Tambo, I chose chocolate. It was indeed "mediocre" in flavor but perfectly edible and did not taste of assorted chemicals like most Dominican fancy foods. The main thing was that the mediocre child enjoyed it. Shame I do not have a clue how to post pics here.

I would recommend their service.
