My friend and I are going to Barcelo Bavero Beach Garden and Casino resort April 8-15 and were wondering if it was all families and couples or if there is a single life there beyond coupledom? What is the disco like as well? We'd appreciate any advice you may have. Thanks.

I stayed at the hotel...and yes, you'll have a lot of fun.
But, as someone who's been there, done that...I would advice you to read the posts on the "Open" forum about how not to get taken for a ride while in DR.
The men can be very charming, and take you for all you're worth if you are not careful.
It almost happened to me the first time I was there...but I'm old enough to know better...
Have fun, enjoy yourself..."Las Ca?as" discos is great for merengue and bachata, and they also have another club for more american music...whatever you like!
