I keep reading that Sosua was a much bigger party spot several years ago than it is now. If so why is it less of a party area now? Have the tourists rotated to a different part of the island or is tourism down in general to the DR. And if so why?

No dinero

Read my print, TIMES ARE HARD. It's called recession and it tricles down to these tourist destinations. No dinero, no travel.

I hear from a friend in Sosua that things are picking up. He owns Rockys Bar and Restaurant. I am going down this week and I will let you know.

I think times must be harder in Canada and Europe. They are the more frequent visitor to the DR.

Still very slow. Things seemed to pick up in January and February, but now very slow again. Absence of tourists and fact many of the hotels are now all inclusive are reasons why life in Sosua much slower now than 10 years ago.
