Yesterday was my day off so I had decided to stay home and relax, but wow, the lights went out from 11am till 5 pm and then went out about 7pm till about 12am....damn. So I had about 2 hours of lights the whole day :(
Thanks to Eddy (the inverter man) I didn't sweat a drop as my fans and my lights were kept on by my power inverter.
Among all the household items that I have bought (in DR) the only household good that really gets my attention is the inverter. It keep my fans, TV and light bulb on when everyone else is in the dark-ages. In fact, i didn't even realize that the lights were out until i tried to turn on the AC.
I would like to know if lights are going out for such long periods of time in other parts of DR? Interesting to see that my office is in the center of city (santiago) and I usually have lights all day long but my home area is another story. I was told that lights go out for 6-7 hours daily. I don't realize that because I am at work but I am afraid that we are in for another long, tough summer....without lights :(
By the way, if you want dependable, inexpensive, durable power inverters call eddy (speaks perfect english) cel: 856 8029 (he lives in santo domingo but serves all DR). His inverters are the best with 100% overload / short circuit protection. If you have alot of money to burn then buy trace unit but always buy the Trojan batteries.
if you need further info on inverters please read the archives; there is tons of info.

Power outage in El Cibao stinks

Rarely if any electricity in Mao. Sometimes no power for days on end. You have got to go solar or wind powered is the way- ya know Don Quijote style wind mills.

AZB & Criss Colon make strange "Bed-Fellows"

Now before you get all excited "A-man",it is not an invitation, only an American, probably English too, expression meaning that it is unusual for two men, well one man, and one "BOY",so far apart on every issue to agree on "anything"! We do agree on "Eddy" the "Inverter Man"!We both have purchased inverters from "Eddy",and they work,at 1/2 the price of TRACE!I think that AZB and Eddy have a "Special" relationship because Eddy asked me if I wanted the "AC-DC" special he gave to AZB,and I said that I don,t go "both-ways",and that I only wanted the "AC" service!Maybe that was just two engineers talking!(It,s great to be back "Insulting" everyone! So many "jerks" so little band width!Criss "I need Cologne"Colon

LOL criss

You and your imaginations. I wonder what you were like when you were 25?
Anyway, I liked the AC-DC special. You won't know it until you try it.
By the way, i had written a post in reply to your post on food and restaurants in Miami etc. After I finished writing my internet connection broke off and then I closed the window by accident....lost everything :(
To make the long story short: I am on a diet and suffered disgracefully with a watery mouth while reading up on your restaurant delicacies.
Anyway, i will also be heading on to atlanta to catch up to some alaskan king crab legs and hot chicken wings. Then I will have a choice, either to go on to Leon, mexico (to see Missing_DR) or to Casa Blanca, Morocco to meet up with my brother. Either way the main reason would be to try out foreign cousines while having a laughter with friends and family.
Welcome back Criss the colon.

AZB....F.Y.I.

The best chicken wings in Atlanta are at the Checkered Parrot on Jimmy Carter Blvd. Taco Mac's is second.

Noticing you enjoy the "tastier" fare at restaraunts, make sure you have a plate of Rocky Mt "Oysters" if you get out Colorado way.

Tell me this, have you heard of wild wings cafe in marietta? Ummmm, they have the best wings in the north atlanta area. I used to go there alot when i was in school.

AZB...Wild Wings are good , but I judge my wings on how close they are to Dominican chicharrones de pollo. You have to buy the mild ones without the hot sauces. The hot sauces destroy the crispiness. Order mild wings with hot sauce on the side. Man, I can't wait 'til lunch!

Janice...Yeah, in Tennessee and North Carolina they are called plain Mountain Oysters. I haven't had the "balls" to try them yet, but I'm sure if they were fried up right, they might be right tasty.
Hey, what part of Colorado are you from? I'll be out there the end of September on a photo trip. Hope to catch the aspens at their peak. I missed the peak the last two years. The only thing
pettier than a mountain side full of golden aspens is some caribbean turquoise water surrounded by white sandy beaches and green coconut trees. Man, I can't wait 'til vacation!

AZB, you are wrong this time!!

The best investment in Dominican Republic are women. They give you the best return for your money. Nothing approaches a horny Dominican girl at undervalue market prices, lack of men with investment portfolios and little or no transportation.

Think about this. A good decent escort call girl in the United States would not give you the time of the day for less than US$5000 a night. That's $90,000 Dominican pesos!!!

With that kind of money you could date for months with Dominican girls. Am I wrong AZB?

Once I posted about the miracles of my inverter and how I profited from it. The scientists in DR1 still shake their heads at my strategy. Well, my inverter is still a gold mine. But my girls are even better!!!!

Can't argue on that...

You got a point there TW, funny how I had always taken them for granted. Thats why I just can't figure out as to why so many men would like to get married to a dominicana (in a heart beat....Isaac) when there are so many to play with....with so little money?
Bottom line is: get yourself a good inverter from eddy and with the saved money you can date a few (dominican) girls for a few months instead of blowing your hard cash on an american puta (call girl) for a night.

TW, you make good sense.
I wonder what Col. Criss would add to that?

You are a genius!!! I never thought of it that way. GET AN INVERTER AND PAY FOR A GIRL. wowwww.

This is the ultimate power regeneration system in the world.

Dominican girls watch out, I m coming with my TRACE 2.5 kilo monster. No passolas, no skateboards. Just my four-wheel inverter, the ultimate driving machine.

I want it "All",and in the DR it is"All" within reach!

I am not going to start what I don,t want to finish here on DR1,but my personal opinion is that both men and women in the DR are more content in their traditional roles than the men and women in North America, and Western Europe. The "norm" here is that the women stay home, run the house, care for the children, enjoy their role as sexual partner of the man of the house. The man has to provide the money to support his wife, the household and to care for the children.Girls from about 13 to 25 have sexual fredom to do whatever they want.Similar to a young man in the US who is encouraged to "Sow his wild oats".After about 25 the girls want a home and a family. The young girls here look to older more mature men ,as the boys in their age group have no money,to drive them around in a "jeepetta",buy them clothes, take them out to dinner and the discos. We,those older more mature men, are more than willing to offer these services, because the rewards for us are so great! As long as a man in the DR keeps up with his obligations "at home" his wife doesn,t complain if he is late coming home once in a while. She has the house, the kids are provided for,Sunday the family goes out to dinner.they go to the Teatro National. She has her car,or "jeepetta".And the men,we are happy too! Criss the "large" colon has summed it all in one master piece. I couldn't agree more with him.
people in this country know their roles well and play by the rules as opposed to the people in USA who have to play with their own role....hehehehee... get it?
me so funny..... :)
