Hello all,

I was planning on getting a 4WD vehicle, but the car rental company messed up and I am stuck with a 2WD SUV instead. Can anybody tell me if the Bahia de las Aguilas road to the beach is navegable with a 2WD SUV?

I went there with a 4WD Tucson, 2WD should not be a problem. Nothing challenging there.

Super easy but when you arrive in the parking lot, park and take a boat. The road past the gate was too much for my all wheel drive Santa fe, but up until the parking lot, even a car can do it.

Yeah it's that final stretch past the gate that I'm referring to.

You will not make it.

The boat is 900 pesos per person or less, and they can drop you at the far end further than you could go by jeep.

I was assuming until the parking lot too, better take the boat from there. Take lots of mosquito repellent with you. Thank me later ;)

Thanks all, very helpful!

Also, if anyone has any estimates on what it would cost to hire one of the boats to take us to Playa Blanca / Trudille and back or to Isla Beata and back for the day, do chime in here.

I think we paid 1800 DOP or so taking us out, leaving us "abandoned" there for 3- 4 hours and picking us up again.

Here is a boaters number, you can ask him 829 890-4911, his name is Yovany. Not sure the number still works though.
