Rockysbar and Hotel in Downtown Sosua has real clean rooms with private bath, good security and good beds for only 15 dollars US a day.

www.rockysbar.com

I stayed there once when my reservations got screwed up at the place I usually stay at out of town. A little noisey when the town is hopping (which it isn't now) but a great place to hang out where you will know everyone in short order.

Marco is the owner and tell him Scott said to buy you a beer even if you don't stay there.

I am going to Sosua next weekend. I will be there from the 3rd to the 7th. If anyone is going to be in town ask for me at Rockys!

Hey, loud, fat guy

Want to break the veil of secrecy? Join up with us on a trip up the "Linea Noroeste?" See some countryside, eat chivo, drink beer and smoke ceegars??

Lemme know? It'll be on Saturday the 4th.....You may or may not get back to Sosua that night...

Thanks HB maybe next time. I looked at the invite and really considered it but I have many things to do with so little time this trip. Besides if I have to go to Santiago I would have to go hunting first before I set out on an outing:)

How about we definately get together over Christmas/New Years? I will be down for 2 weeks instead of 5 days then. I promise a face to face then if you promise no stankin Ceegars!

I don't think that there is A/C.

I only stayed the one night and didn't even think of a safe but Marco has one in the office I am sure he would let you use.

You can email him at rockysbluesbar@hotmail.com for info I don't have a clue about.

You sure want a lot for your 15 bux, dontcha? lol

The place I usually stay is out of town. I get a 1 bedroom apartment with 2 baths for 35- including the nicest breakfast you have seen:) That place has a A/C in the bedroom and a safe in the closet. That place is Villa Chessa and is next to the Casino.

Thanks for the information Jazzcom.
I assume the place you stay has no problem with girlfriends visiting.
What time does the breakfast end?

I think that they even serve breakfast to a girlfriend. You will have to pay for the second girlfriend. Mike Lamb is the Manager there.

Enjoy

anywhere else?

Hi Jazzcom,
I popped into Rockys last time I was in Sosua(janurary) ans Ted the bartender told me that the rooms are pretty much all booked up year round with "Regulars". Do you (or anyone else that is reading this) know anywhere else that is fairly reasonable in Sosua? The Europa is nice but is $32 per night.I know there is a place across from the Europa and down the dirt road called the Palm resort(or something like that) and that place is $15 per night also.I didnt stay there though and I dont know their policy on overnight guests. If anyone has info on other places I would appreciate it.Thank you.
P.S.-- Jazzcom, where is the place you stay at out of town thats $35 per night including breakfast and how far out of town is it on a motoconcho.
Thanks,
ILoveDr

You are right it is usually booked at Rockys. I spoke to Marco yesterday and he said it wasn't and that is why I posted this message/ad. He has rooms availible now.

Up from Europa is a nice place called El Colibre. 25 a night.
30 bux a night facing the pool.

Rockys is 15- bux and it does have ceiling fans in each room.

Condos Dominicanos 25 for a room. 30 for a 1 bedroom 35 for a 2 bedroom.

Villa Cheesa (out of town by casino) is 25- for a room 35 for a apartment.

Only other place I stayed at is piergeorgio which was real nice but I think 70 a night.

Hillbilly, Santiago is about 1.5 hours from Sosua. I am only going to be there for 4 days this trip and I would hate to spend it in the car the whole time when there are so MANY women left for me to romance, so many friends in Sosua waiting for me along with buckets of Presidente's.

How about you finish in Sosua and we can have dinner and drinks? I would love to go on a roadtrip when I am there for a longer period of time.

Thanks for keeping me in mind but I will have to pass this time but consider ending in Sosua. You can find me at Rockys or ask Marco to get ahold of me. I am staying at Villa Chessa next to the Casino.

Hi

El Colibri is a nice place with the nicest pool in Sosua.

They have A/C and TV and my room had refridge.

Don't even remember the Security Guard but I like the owners and management. Friendly Dutch people.

Check out Villa Chessa. I like that place the best.

Hotel Tropix Sosua

Hi. Yes I just returned to Canada from Sosua. I always stay at Tropix. Well maintained, beautiful gardens, pool, honor bar, friendly staff, fridge in every room, a/c or overhead fan, less than ten minutes walk to Sosua Beach or five minutes to the center of town. It is also very inexpensive. Call 809-571-2291 for reservations or email Sylvie, the owner. info@tropixhotel.com
[/email]

She speaks English, German, Dutch and Spanish, was born in Sosua and knows the area like the back of her hand.

The only problem with villa chessa it's too far out to walk on a regular basis aside from that it is very nice. You will find several inexpensive hotels in the links of the yahoo Sosua Group.
