That's a ladder trailer. Looks like he's hauling a tool to get at coconuts or mangos or something off the ladder.

Janico was the very first town in the entire DR that eliminated illiteracy. The program, sponsored by Manuel Arsenio Ureña, was a major success, and I have a hunch that the Janico program was imitated years later by the gubmint in its efforts to eliminate illiteracy.

Great folks up that way...must be the air.
