This aviastar guy is full of bad info.

First of all there are direct flights from the US to Bangkok. I've flown several.

Second, New York to Beijing is less than 14 hours. So DR now becomes 20 hours?

14 hrs across the Pacific, did Hong Kong to Newark a while back 14 hrs 30 min. The other way it takes 15 hrs Dubai to Orlando just did it.

I've had to fly to and from China quite a lot lately due to work, but only once has it been a direct flight, where (thankfully) my work paid for it. It must have been 13 hours 30 mins from Beijing to NYC when it was a direct. A fairly gruelling flight but nice when the amenities are top-notch and you've got a comfy seat. Maybe look into a charter flight? They are getting far more common now, simply because so much time is saved, and we all know time is money. This is the site I know: https://www.jetapp.co.uk/charter-flight
