Residency: Don't sweat it until you are settled.

Where to live: How do youexpect to live on the beach and not be in a tourist area? In- freakin' -possible, unless you go 80 or 100 km out of the city and even then its a maybe...

You have better take a "research"trip and check things out

    Talking Where?

You did not say where (city) your job opportunity is. If you can give us posters a hint there may be a possibility we can offer some good advice to you. Regards, PJT <img src=http://www.tnfj.com/Images/Smilies/wavey.gif>

As Hillbilly so colorfully pointed out, wherever there is a decent beach there is a tourist complex. In case you are not aware of it, the Dominican Republic has more hotel rooms than any other island in the Caribbean.

The only way to find a location that you will be happy in is to come early and tour the areas you think might be best for you.
