I have a box that is 18x18x15 weights about 30 pounds. Post office wants $265, FedEX wants $301.68 and UPS wants $393.03.

Which is the best carrier and cheaper that can ship my box to DR from Buffalo, NY and it must be express Let me know any tips/advices.

Thanks!

Jeez, man! There must be ten Dominicsn shippers there in Miami.
You can ship a bigger and heavier box, door to door for like 80 bucks.

Find one of them. Any Dominican knows them.

i started using DHL in Mexico. In Mexico Fedex is a joke. I had an overnight that took 10 days and some kids in a beat up truck showed up with the package, no uniform. I've used Fedex in USA and they are reliable but they also have insane accounting and their fees are off the chain. my fedex shipping table in my shipping database has about 85 fields, each field represents a fee. Anyway, DHL is johnny on the spot, and they generally do it faster and cheaper. They only offer one service though: fast. usually it's their next day going to USA, but they quote you on 2nd day service.

We took an envelope to Fedex yesterday in NJ, and it was delivered in Santo Domingo today. Pleasantly surprised

I've used DHL to ship express here and their rates were always less than FDX or UPS. Two days to get here.

If I buy a cellphone on Ebay and get it shipped to Santiago using BMC how much can I spect to pay for the shipping from MIA to STI?

I do have an account that I signed up when I was living in Santiago and that I have used eventually to send envelopes with documents but never any electronic or any others goods.

I see, nobody in this forum buy online on Ebay from DR...

I will have to call BMC in order to get a quote.

Just trying to buy a gift for someone.

i use aeropaq.com for USA orders. its OK especially if you can get free shipping to miami. it seems like they always add 1 or 2 pounds to the shipments, unless the shipper is lying. its on my things to do, to get to the bottom of it :)

Look for ones on EBAY with free shipping. Tell the vendor to pack it securely in a small box, and include a copy of the order details.

If the phone is less than $200 dollars, it should cost rough 5 bucks to send it from Miami to Santiago via a mail courier.

If it's more than $200, you run the risk of Customs charging import taxes. Happens frequently, but not always.
