Bonao gets Rancho Guacamayo for ecotourism
President Danilo Medina was in Los Quemaos, Monseñor Nouel for the inauguration of the first phase of the Rancho Guacamayo, the first 56 rooms of a planned 110-room hotel on Thursday, 12 July 2018. This is the largest hotel in the Bonao area. The hotel features restaurants and swimming pools that complement the gorgeous rivers in the area.

Antonio Marte is a transport businessman who for years has benefited from the generous government support to the Conatra bus and taxi transporter group he has presided for years. He said he is investing over RD$100 million in the new venture.
He built the hotel around what was his personal villa. On display are exotic birds, such as the guacamayo and ostriches. Bullfights are planned.

Present for the inauguration was Tourism Minister Francisco Javier Garcia who said that the Rancho Guacamayo is a new option for those who seek ecological tourism and contributes to preserve the environment.
