was doing some official paperwork recently

my signature was rejected
it was in black ink

In Canada... black is the colour you use... mandatory in real estate

actually - twice this month i was caught in this mess.

sooo
use blue ink

learning every day.... 10 yrs later

i have seen it before, numerous times. blue pen needed on all official documents for our lawyer. it's something to do with copies, i believe.

I have heard this both in the DR and US; however--and I laugh to myself--a good color laser printer will print a photocopy of the blue signature and it looks just like an original. A low tech water test on blue or black still works.

In the states, for like forever, I have always signed all official documents in blue at the insistence of legal beagles. Supposedly black is easily spoofed.
