Travel between Punta cana and Santa Domingo.

Traveling to Punta Cana soon. I was wondering how far (time) from there to Santa Domingo? Is there flights available? If so what cost are we looking at. Would hate to go and not see what I'm sure is a great city with many sights.

You can drive it in about 3.5 hours or can fly from punta cana airport to the city airport ( herrera). I would drive it, you can rent a car from Avis. The office is close to the hotel area.

Most of the resorts have a day tour into S.D., cost around $70.00 US per person, bus leaves from the resort at 6:30 am and arrives back around 6 - 8 pm. Includes some sightseeing a trip to spend some time at the market. You can check with the tours operators when you get there for more details.
