I'm looking for a doctor in Santo Domingo who specializes in the treatment of hypertension, meaning that's all they do. Someone who speaks good English is preferred, but I know that could be asking for too much :squareeye
There is a natural remedy for hypertension that I stumbled across a while ago. I was offered a tea called "te de jagua". A short while after I drank it, I became dizzy and I actually fainted when I stood up.
It turns out that this stuff causes vasodilation and dilates the arteries thus lowering blood pressure.
A bit of googling revealed this interesting document.

Interesting link in that it helps one use/learn the Dominican names for plants, thanks.
As for natural remedies, if you don't know what the contraindications are or interactions are with other medications or foods it may be wise to avoid their use until you know they are appropriate. Are Naturopaths common in RD? I'm guessing not.
My apologies if this is off-topic from the original post.
