G'day,
I'm a Canadian resident who's spent many many years in Thailand, but that destination is now soooo far away, that I'm trying the Dominican Republic as a warm alternative for the winters.
I'm sure I'll have a good number of questions, but first, I'm planning on staying in Puerto Plata for four months over this winter. Nothing special to do, (I'm a single fat ol' man) but hang out, drink some good stuff, eat some good food, maybe hear some good music.
First question: anyone know of real problems of staying four months? I can enter without a visa, but I read that only gives me 30 days. What then?
Another: I'll use an ATM to get pesos from my Canadian bank account. What are the limits for each bank, and charges for withdrawals?
(I can answer those questions for Thailand, but not my upcoming winter sojourn.)
