HI..CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS TOURIST VISA I AM READING ABOUT. I LIVE IN USA(NJ) AND WE ARE LEAVING FOR THE DR ON MAY 13 AND THIS WAS THE 1ST I WAS READING ON THIS. I HAVE A BIRTH CERTIFCATE.,DRIVER LICENSE, IS THAT NOT ENOUGH?? WHERE DO GET THIS VISA THING. DO I GET IT AT THE AIRPORT WHEN I LEAVE NEWARK ? I AM A BIT CONFUSED, CAN SOMEONE CLARIFY THIS FOR ME....

You get it in the airport in the DR when you arrive. It cost USD 10.00.

I'm not sure about documentation because I used my passport -- anyone else help with that question?

Roseyrose, what what rrwells said is correct but it's called a tourist CARD not visa.

Yes, you buy the tourist card at the Airport in the DR. Some airlines will sell you one stateside, so you don't have to purchase in the DR. Your Birth Certificate will be fine for ID as long as it is an official one with raised seal.
