I just applied for spousal Residency Visa. Waiting for approval but know they will ask for proof of medical insurance later on. Will they accept my current out of country coverage carrier from Canada. It is good for 93 days and can be extended. I would likely not stay longer than 3 months at a time due to aged parents, grandkids here etc. If possible can you suggest company to look into for Dominican coverage as well?( 67 years old)

Never heard of them asking for medical insurance. Repatriation though, yes.

When you purchase your round-trip ticket, request additional Trip Insurance which will cover you while in the DR for medical care and medical repatriation via medevac flight. It is less costly than taking a Dominican policy. Also includes theft of your personal belongings, etc.
