I just noticed Spirit Airlines and Jet Blue now have flights EWR-SDQ non-stop. Weird hours to fly but for the prices I can adjust. A little competition for United Airlines will be a good thing. For as long as I can remember United was the only airline to offer non-stop to SDQ.

Coincidentally, I’m searching for flights myself. I have a lot of Spirit miles from when my parents lived in Florida, so I took a look at the ewr-sdq flights. Those times are awful!

However......my preferred AA, out of Philadelphia, is outrageous, way over $700 for each of us. So I’m looking at Newark too, but probably United. We’re not as flexible as in past years, we have a wedding to attend on January 5th

I have always flown United (Continental) which has always been non-stop. For years and years United was the only airline that flew EWR-SDQ non-stop.

I did once and only once flew AA which had a stop over in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Got to San Juan and flight was delayed six hours because they couldn't find the pilot who was to fly the airbus SJU-SDQ.......... Never again

Low $300's + seat selection....

Is the 6:30am not to your liking ?
My wife sleeps and leaves the car for 3 weeks... about $200-250 more

It was a good enough deal that I nixed the POP flight --- as I remember

I am not too fond of those early, early morning flights but if the fare is right I can adapt. United also has a 10:30 AM flight to SDQ during this high season. My schedule is always double flexible. I can fly any day or any time so I always look for the cheapest.

United was the ony one serving EWR-SDQ with 1 daily flight wich was complicated for conections because was very dificult to make conections going are returning in short time, one way always you had to wait a lot hrs waitting to connect, now with 2 daily flights hrs are more flexible for conections.

Competition is always good, before you was lucky if you could get a cheap seat with United, their flights always full and sometimes overbooked and expensive, so thanks Jetblue for to say Hello United from EWR. And now with spirit prices will be pretty regular priced most of the time.

For Winter they added a 3rd flight to SDQ and later go back to 2 daily flights. Jetblue and Spirit keeping ony 1 daily flight.

UAL #1984....EWR to SDQ

My wife is on it today... in watching Flightaware i see that it arrives early , regularly
3:40 - 3:50 hrs after takeoff.... meaning an 11:15-20am arrival here.

Seems like a good flight..... despite the early wake-up call !!!

Faster than usual ... I was almost late !!

Landed before 11am...luckily...there were lines for both Immigration and checkout

But my wife said the trip to and the boarding were easy at the early hour...
Plus - you hime here at an early afternoon time.

Did I mention $330 R/T ?
Warms my cold heart...........

Hey grill man, one good thing about those early morning flights is you arrive at SDQ before noon and if going to Santo Domingo or having to pass through SD you will miss the afternoon rush hour traffic.
