I was going to cheekily ask "What puddle jumper can they squeeze into Samana" Then looked it up, 10,000 feet! Do they land 74's there? Are the runway and ramp designed for heavy aircraft?

They DO exist on Orbitz!.. Nice job - One small detail, they leave MIA for Toronto then you head south again...

Yup. Did a Russian B777-300 at AZS yesterday. All economy. Nearly 500 pax onboard!

Lets hope they didn't build the runways, taxi ways and ramp like they do highways If so we will soon see a YouTube video of a 74x-77x with it's gear stuck through the pavement :cheeky:

500, Wow 8 across? Is the 777-300 the model that is longer than the 747-800? That 500 config must be tight

I'm not sure what you mean by "did" I recall you are Avionics or A&P? I think you have been around airliners a bit?

I seem to have this reoccurring dream (and I love it) I win billions, not millions in a lottery and of course need a couple private jets Many of my friends live in Portland, Maine which has a runway a little over 7,000' so the 74x is out My current “other” home is Port Orange Fl. and Daytona has 10,500 so unless the 74x was fully loaded on a hot day it would meet minimums barring a 110o day

Largest plane I know of that has landed and taken off from PWM was an Air Force KC 10 and it was empty

In my dream I have a 74x configured with 4 GE 90's for short take off Wonder if that would be feasible if money/operating costs were not a consideration also, wonder if 4 of those engaging their reverse thrusters would solve the landing roll?

Always fun to think of what you could do with unlimited funds

I fix em and fly em. Started life as an electrician in the RAF and then joined the airlines later in life. Initially went the avionics route but realised that if I wanted to stay on the line working on live aircraft then I needed the full set of licences. So now I'm an EASA part 66 licenced aircraft engineer in both disciplines, avionics and airframe/engine. i also have the FAA A&P with inspectors authorisation. I use that primarily to maintain my C172 which is usually parked at POP.

I cover some of the European and Russian flights that arrive in POP and recently have had a few flights that land at AZS. It's a fun job when I can fly my own plane to work. Saves me a lot of driving.

It seems the "I hear" part of my statement was incorrect..
my friend had told me and it's baloney

No Go Joe

Sorry for the false alarm

She also told me Nelly's Car Rental is no longer.... true or false ?
