Our Title was stolen when our Condo in PC was burglarized in 2013 and it cost $1100 U.S. and a agonizing trip to Higuey to get it replaced. Hope you can get a more decent price than that.
You need to go through a legal process at the Registry of Titles that issued it, for which you will need a lawyer.
I wanted to know what the transfer tax would be on a particular property if it was purchased and was told it would cost $100 USD and a lawyer (+ their fee) to find out.
Apparently the tax amount is not based solely on the most recent purchase price and getting an inspection done to assess current value is unheard of. In other words, information may want to be free, but those who control the information want to be paid for providing it.
