Most everyone I know that is looking for that "casino experience" in Punta Cana go to the Hard Rock Hotel Casino. I am sure your hotel can help get you transportation to and from.

I was asking which casino is closest. I don't even know where the resort is!

The closest casino to Occidental is Avalon. The problem with Google maps sometimes is that is shows places that do not exist. For example, if you look, you will see Flamboyan casino near Avalon. Flamboyan casino has been a remodel project for about four years, or more, now. So, it is not an option. Avalon is not far from Occidental. You go up to the corner at Plaza Bavaro and turn right. I would not walk from hotel, but it is actually walking distance from that corner where Plaza Bavaro, Steve's Bar, and Drink Point and shops are. I think a taxi would only charge their minimum which is 10 dollars from Occidental - but if you take it from inside the hotel, you will pay more. But, still minimal cost. If you are going to the casino the 20 dollar taxi will be nothing. Good luck. Avalon is fairly nice. Remodeled a couple years ago. Used to be Tower casino. Hard Rock is much farther away. Forty dollar or more for taxi, probably. One way. But, certainly bigger, etc. More like Vegas, you probably know. Avalon is relaxed, low key. Way smaller.

Now that I think about it more, there is a hole in the wall casino open next to the Flamboyan corner remodel. It is probably called Flamboyan. But, it is small and looks dark and not well maintained. For that, I don't think of it. I have never been in. I don't know if it has table games. Security guy at door near sidewalk. That's all I know about it. Good luck. I think the remodel project is/was to make the hole in the wall casino bigger, extend it to the corner.

Tsk tsk.......I’ve been going to DR since 1975, owned property there since ‘77, and neither me nor Mr AE, who was born there, would have a clue where to look for ANYTHING in Punta Cana.

Ask me about SD, SC, Bani even...... There are no stupid questions.
