The multa I received last year in Santo Domingo required me to attend a class before paying the fine. This was a problem as the class was in the capital and I live on the north coast.
Through friends with contacts I was able to get it paid without a trip to the capital for the class... and it no longer shows online as a pending multa. But without my friend, I would have been off to the capital to sit thru the class and then pay the fine.
will you tell us the 'crime' you were charged with?

It was a traffic ticket, they claimed I passed a red light which was actually yellow and they weren’t even in a vantage point to really see. My Dominican wife tried to understand what was really happening but as far as we could tell they really just needed to hand out tickets that morning. We saw agents all over the place with lots of cars stopped

Luckily/unluckily I had two yakky females... wife and daughter fresh from the airport

I explained... he agreed -- I drove off

here - you pay the ticket for me..
Initially it was rejected... but ultimately accepted
with the codicil that it wouldn't pay the ticket - he would keep it
Either way worked for me....

I followed google maps instructions into making an illegal right turn. I knew it was not allowed, saw Amet there, but they were looking the other way when I decided to go for it.
Going straight would have led me into an area of the city that I didn’t want to be in.
I pulled out of a gas station in SD.... to a STOP sign at the corner...
half in / half out of the station.
