I went to FLA last weekend... Thursday Am to Monday AM
and decided to park at the airport.

FYI
960/day....
my fee was ~ 3950 pesos for 8:30am Thurs to 9:15am Monday

Not so cheap but my tolls / gas /driver from Cabrera would have been more or the same

And BTW... the Orlando to SDQ flight (JetBlue) leaves at 5:30am
NOT FUN

WW, what is the parking situation like - secure, covered, etc? I have not checked it out yet. The price isn't so horrible considering the alternatives.

I've thought of parking there and taxi'ing in to Santo Domingo, but not sure that is the best option. I figure it must be fairly secure during the day.

Hubby parked there last year. Ended up with a busted brake light. Alarm has to gone off but no one saw anything. He made a fuss and they didnt charge him anything for his 5 days.

960 a day? Heck for half that I will rent you my covered spot in centro and you can take Uber to SDQ. LOL

Really though that isn't a bad price short term but if someone is gone for a month that will add up quick.

They are remodeling the SDQ parking lot, didnt finish yet,and as far as I know they will make a covered area. Now they are under the umbrella of Vinci Airports. Will make also a remodelation inside, new Cargo City with new offices.

I left my car at SDQ for 10 days.....no covered area but I have the sun shade.

It was $50US on my card ..... $5/day.... just under 3,000DOP
Nowhere near the 960/day before.

They might have counted me for 11 days..... 12 noon drop off--- 4pm pickup

A good business for someone: buy a piece of land nearby for long-term parking and ferry people to the airport. They do it in the UK and probably many other countries.

I don't see why the taxi mafia would object - it's only taking business away from the airport car park. The private parking place could even hire a large taxi to take a few people at a time.

Uber drivers could wait for their fares there, for one thing.
