Keep it a little more gentleman like. Negotiating a price in a barbershop would not exactly contribute to your image. It is not like buying a car.

When I have gone to a new barbershop I have always checked the price first. Much better to do that than have an argument afterwards.

I find , outside of toursit areas, in a lot of barbershop the prices are already in the wall. I would say 200 pesos for a mens haircut. Give or take 50 pesos depending on the haircut and all the bells and whistles. Ie shave, trim eyebrows, shape up ect.

I am still fairly new. Is that more or less gentlemen?

Seems Allright although I never visit a barber-shop here my daughter handles the scissors.
She does a good job on pelo bueno.

I mean both. Find out the price and then negotiate if it's to high. My last barber was always 250 or 300 pesos when I asked up front. Last time I didn't ask and it was 400. I pointed at the new sign on the wall that said 250 and he said that was the other barbers price. That's why he isn't my barber anymore. It's not the amount it's the point.
I'm sick of being treated like a walking bank machine.

My new guy started at 700 for just a haircut. I asked him if he was coco loco and his next price was 300. We will try him for the next few haircuts.

I pay 150 plus 50 for tip. I can get it cheaper in the barrio - 100 pesos.
