Cedula Question

My husband who is from Dominican Rebublic will be returning to Dominican for a few weeks. He needs a Cedula. He has a temp. that was giving to him 4 years ago that is paper. He is trying to get the plastic card one. Where does he go? He will be staying on the North (Santiago/Montecristy) side of the island. Does this take more than a few weeks to get and what does he need to bring with him?

Monte Cristi? Cool, that will be easy! There's so little going on there that clerks are filing their nails hoping a "customer" shows up.

He'll be needing an original birth certificate. If he was registered in Monte Cristi tell him to bring a copy of his BC so they can find it quick. If not he'll have to get one from the Oficialia where he was registered at birth. That's all. Once he's got the BC done with it'll only take some mins.

Regarding you question on how long it takes, if he has his papers he'll be able to get his cedula within an hour or so of making application.
