How's the rain in your neighborhood? The third day of some rain here in Jarabacoa AND IT is really coming down at the moment.

YES!

Finally!

May the rivers swell and reservoirs fill!

You can thank me for the rain. This weekend I sprung to fix the well on the property which included a new quality well pump...

No significant rain in my part of Sosua longer than a 10 minute shower. Not enough water on the ground for it to flow and wet the area under my palapa. Rain gauge is hard to read as the amounts are in the fractions of a millimeter range.

50% chance of rain today, 60% tomorrow in Sousa - Estimated totals if the afternoon rains materialize and overnight 7 mm. Another 8 mm tomorrow. That would be rain if it happens.

We had 2 pretty good days of rain showers in the Uvero Alto area. My grass has actually turned green. The gardeners are trimming it as I type.

You live in the dry Sosua because in Los Cerros we got plenty - enough to overflow the dog dish 3 nights in a row and raise the level of the pool 1-1/2"

Driving back from Santiago late yesterday afternoon, water was cascading across the Autopista near the Rio Burende bridge, quite the downpour.

The drainage channel in the median was overflowing.

Was in La Cienaga at same time and can confirm the showers were very heavy in the area.

sadly, zero rain in PP area.

Very true, even though I already thought there would be some due to heavy clouds on the loma next to Teleferico...

Thankfully, we're still getting more than enough water from the pipes... Last summer was not particularly funny...

At this point, any swollen rivers and top up of the reservoirs is just temporary relief. The country needs about 14 days with 12 hours of steady rain spread over 4 to 6 weeks to get back to the status quo. Not likely and I do expect this summer will be a dry repeat of summers past.

So far we have had 5 days of pretty steady rain. Was in Bavaro today and it was pouring there.
