When I was very new and first saw his replies, I will admit I was sometimes taken aback. But he called a spade a spade and knew his stuff. Now when I see an old post with all the C's, I wish he was still around to tell it like it is. And I didn't even know him compared to most on here.

About 15 years ago I was with CC at a DR1 gathering at Eddy's Sports Bar in Sosua. A lady walked up to him and thanked him for his insightful posts. She though he was Hillbilly. When it was mentioned that he was in fact CC she literally ran away from us.

Tom's 35 or 40 year stay in the DR was certainly a record for living here on a Tourist Visa. And they never did get that last Overstay fee from him. RIP friend................

Wow! I am just learning of his passing. I learned alot from his posting and he didn't pull any punches. He will be missed, especially his sign off "CCCCCCCCCCCCCC"

Had the pleasure of meeting him and Celt at the Boat House in Boca Chica for Thanksgiving.
He was quite a character that's for sure!!!

I was at the US Embassy in SD one time and saw a big guy walking around not sitting. A security guard told him to sit in Spanish. They guy informed the guard that the Embassy was US territory and as such the guard should speak English. When he was told in English to sit down he refused to do so, saying he preferred to pace. No law said he had to sit. The guard said something to the effect of what if everyone paced instead of siting?A Dominican I had met there informed me that that guy was known as Chris Colon on dr1. I don't know if it was or not.
