Don't use Guzman but you're a fool if you don't get a good Dominican law firm to assist you. You think it'll be expensive but not as expensive as losing your condo through your own ignorance and arrogance.

It also might be smart to quit attacking those that reach out to assist after you ask. I'm not going to offer anymore or answer your questions.

I can't understand what the issue is with some of the people that post on this DR1 Forum. People are not allowed to ask about a basic legal question here-What is your problem?

Maybe AirBnb it to cover some of the costs of renting elsewhere. Either way, get out before you lose your mind or fall off a balcony.
Well the reality is that I already moved out and it is rented now. Hard to live in a place where people commit criminal acts like vandalism-criminal death threats and defamation. I can tell you as a fact that the poster berating me here on this board has no clue what they are talking about as I am living in this real-time and this system here for victims of these crimes is merciless towards them in terms of cost and justice. LOL.

What might actually constitute defamation is a little ore complicated than it appears. All you seem to be looking for right now is if being called "persona non grata" is defamation.

Guzman gives their first consultation for free. Other wouldn't charge any more than $50. Get a recommendation and go talk to one. Then you'll know.

Good for you Jimmy for getting out. Hopefully it is on the market for sale and you'll take the first reasonable offer so you can put all of this to bed, now being wiser and expectedly bit bit poorer.

Absolutely correct your post. Possibly it can't be deemed an act of defamation as is the case when one claims a person to be a thief, for example. However, I have been informed by several attorneys that a base argument can be made, if it was fully intended to harm or defame the reputation of the individual and fails the litmus test of being a fact.

Terrible situation. I hope no DR1ers ever have to go such a thing. My recommendation is just never buy a condo-apartment whatever. Life is too short to be caught up in this craziness here. It seems that property owners are treated no better than cattle or slaves in a lot of these apartment complexes. The damages in my own situation are very high now across the board.

The problem when you get into gray areas is that you have to carefully weigh the cost of litigation against the odds of winning your case.

Absolutely correct again. I'm thinking you are or at one time were an attorney? This goes back to that Anderson vs. Cryovac case that basically plundered Schlitchmann's law firm in the costs to litigate vs. potential reward.

No, but I've dealt with so many attorneys in my life on such a wide variety of issues that I almost feel like one!

Glad to hear you decided to move out. I know that was a bitter pill to swallow, but that association would have just continued to make your life miserable. Good decision IMO.
