RULES FOR POSTING ON DR1

1. Newbies (less than 10 posts) may not have access to private messaging, profiles, etc.
2. Each person is entitled to one screen name. No exceptions.
3. While debate and discussion is fine, we will delete any post that is rude, insulting, contains a personal attack or is inflammatory.
4. Posters should post in a way that is respectful to other users. You are able to edit your post for a few minutes after it is posted, after that it stays as is, so consider your words carefully before submitting.
5. Please stay in line with the topic being discussed and remember religion and race are off limits in the regular forums.
6. Respect other users. No flaming or abusing fellow forum members. Users who continue to post inflammatory, abusive comments may be temporarily or permanently banned or deleted from DR1. No threats or harassment of other users will be tolerated.
7. Spam posts will be deleted and poster banned. We do allow genuine third party recommendations of businesses and services within the Dominican Republic.
8. While members may answer questions about their business, excessive repeat posts of the same nature will be considered as spam and deleted.
9. If you are not sure of anything, feel free to ask the moderator first via a private mail.
10. No re-posting of copyrighted materials or other illegal content is allowed. Any posts containing illegal content or copyrighted materials will be deleted. You may quote from other sources if a link is included.
11. If you wish to post negatively about a Dominican business or service, you may do so ONLY if you also include your legal name and contact information within the same post.
12. All threads and posts in the regular forums must be regarding the Dominican Republic and living in the Dominican Republic.
13. Once you’ve surpassed 500 posts, you will gain access to the Off Topic Forum, where you may discuss anything that is not related to the Dominican Republic.
14. Try not to post when you have had too much to drink as this often doesn't work out well.
15. While these guidelines cover most common situations, we cannot anticipate everything. We reserve the right to change our minds about anything to ensure that these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
16. And finally, don't ever take it personally. It is only a board and not life and death.

That is a lot of rules.[emoji8]

How much is too much to drink and if we think the answer is too low how can we petition to have a change of mind?

I think the rules are important.

Equally important is how those rules are applied.........
hopefully, in a consistent manner.

Given the subjectivity of the rules..... that may be a problem
