Is it a pool leak or evaporation. pool is in POP

I am losing about 1 inch of pool water each day. The pool is in full sun all day long. Wonder
if its a leak or evaporation. Any one else in POP seeing this in their pool? I've researched
measuring evaporation but was wondering if any one in the DR has a better method.

We see about an inch a a day as well and have for 12 years. Usually less on cloudy days. It is evaporation.

The presence of a breeze can increase the rate of evaporation.

Place a pail of water on steps of pool full mark pool see if they evaporate equally..not fool proof but helps

Put a little food coloring around your inground pool lights if any or your main drain or around any cracks you see.

Watch the now colored water if it escapes into these various areas.

The evaporation test as well.

I used to have my own pool service in Fort Lauderdale - about 50 accounts. Unless there was a leak, average loss to evaporation was about one inch per week. A windy location might increase that to an inch/day, but even that seems high.
