Renewing driver’s licence after becoming naturalized citizens

So our DR driver’s licenses are expiring soon but we recently became naturalized dominican citizens and they forced us to take on two last names on our new cédulas. Has anybody been through this process? We are afraid that when the people at the transportation department see our new cédulas with two last names (which now don’t match our driver’s licenses) they might give us grief. Any suggestions?
