The fellow who started Sea Horse Ranch never got the chance to realize his dream of a golf course. There are certainly plenty of holes now in the road in front...

    100% agreed however several
people on here have been barking
at the thought of families vacationing
in Sosua. Let me be the first to say... those
folks were wrong. In my 8 years of living
here, l've never seen this many families
    enjoying ths town.

You're absolutely right. You could see it immediately after the latest "purge". So I think a good number of these "families" are locals that are already living here. Maybe some vacationers, but probably mostly local expats. They showed up almost the same day, so I believe a big part of it was curiosity at first. Now that the purge is holding somewhat, they are coming out knowing things have changed and enjoying the new look.

Retired expats are thrifty. They do not pay and spend as much as the drunk tourists trying to impress their new Dominican sub-wives.

True, Some retired expats rent 300 usd studio apartments. But some pay cash for 300K+ homes. And everything in-between. I think the point is that once people feel comfortable coming downtown, and more activities exist for them, the more they will come.

Build it, and they will come.

I was on the Beach today, Velero Restaurant Casita. Must have been there when all the families were in the restroom.
