Pretty sure they are allowed to go anywhere prostitution is legal. Since nobody seems to want prostitution in the DR, a simple solution would be to make it illegal. Mission accomplished.

That is very unlikely to happen. I have never seen anything anywhere about making prostitution illegal in the DR. Long ago I saw a discussion on making it illegal to solicit a prostitute, but that was shelved and unlikely to be discussed again. The actions of recent times in Sosua would probably not have happened if the Johns involved had been discreet.

The racial undertones in this thread is disturbing. Like all the (Beta) men that visit Sosua are some sort of thugs, come from crack infested areas that are full of crime, diseases and dilapidated structures. Most of the men that I've met in Sosua are accomplished working professionals that are well paid, well traveled and just want a break from the stressful environment in the US.

We already have to deal with discrimination and racism in the US. We all don't throw money in the air or wear pants that hang off of our butts. Just like all of the so called ( Alpha ) men aren't sex predators and racists. Sosua is getting cleaned up, so it can cater to a certain demographic and that's wonderful.

Maybe Sosua can become a Destination for GAY MEN ? not even joking . They( as a demographic) have done amazing things with Cities here in the US which were FAR worse , crime infested, crack vials and needles on every corner, not to mention rampant Crime..
Now they have been replaced by Art Galleries , nice Restaurants , Coffee Shops , boutiques ... and the Women LOVE it , you know how they like to shop ( no offense ladies)..

Point is SOSUA needs a new Demographic THEME... Bobby and Suzy are not coming just yet .
Seems Bobby is now more of a Beta Male, who is clutching his pearls more than Suzy at the thought of a prostitute crossing their paths on the way to Playa Sosua..
If Single MEN are what is desired, as a previous Poster just said .. why not go full Bore . and Market it to Gay Couples ..
Would be a lot smarter than what they are doing now , thats for sure ..
Gays probably have their favorite travel spots in the Caribbean, likely for years. I think there are Gay cruises also, like certain weeks that are kinda set aside for that.

Thursday evening, February 13th at 7:30, an exhibition of artwork produced by Armando Casciati opened in the cultural center (Casa de Arte) of Sosúa. In Sosúa we know Armando Casciati as the owner of a hotel, bar and nightclub. Armando, Milanese (Italy) from birth, owns the Merengue bar with disco d'Clasico.
