Hello,
I lived in Montellano (east of Puerto Plata) for a year in 2009 with my family. My wife is Dominican and I am Canadian. We visited in 2015, and we are back again for a vacation and to visit her family. Although we own two modest homes in Montellano, I rented a condo in Cabarete Ocean One.

Be careful if you plan to drive here. I thought Quebec drivers were bad (where I am from) but here it is the Wild West where cars try to pass others on curves so be vigilant and concentrated 100%. Defensive driving is constant here.
